The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) with over 25 supporting organizations, including the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety will present a two-day symposium to explore strategies and identify tools for enhancing and sustaining healthy workplaces and healthy workers.
Join practitioners, policy makers, researchers, and stakeholders from the public and private sectors to consider the latest findings, share best practices, and identify practical ways to integrate occupational health and safety protection and health promotion practices to sustain and improve worker health.
During the second day of the conference (Tuesday, September 11th) there will be breakout groups during the morning on “Programs and Practices to Prevent Disease or Improve Worker Health in Specific Disease Areas or Conditions”. One of the eight sessions during the morning breakout will be “Motor Vehicle Safety: A Part of Comprehensive Workplace Health Programs”. Plan to attend this 90-minute session to learn why employers are concerned about roadway safety for their employees and their families and to hear how they have dev eloped workplace practices that promote safe driving practices both on and off the job.
