Each June, 12,000 specially trained and certified inspectors blanket North America’s roadways around the clock for 72 hours to prevent truck and bus crashes and to save lives. In 2007, RoadCheck commemorates its 20th year. Over its history, RoadCheck inspectors have conducted nearly one million inspections of commercial vehicles and drivers. These federal, state, provincial and local inspectors are out there to make sure all motorists traveling on North America’s highways are playing it safe. To do this, they are on alert to spot unsafe commercial vehicles as well as unsafe passenger vehicles and commercial drivers—because we all know that many factors are involved when a crash occurs.
The annual sponsor of RoadCheck is the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), a not-for-profit association of local, state, provincial, and federal officials responsible for the administration and enforcement of truck and bus safety laws in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
